Unlike Wes, I don't have a text supplement or honorable mentions. Everything I think you should play I either mention here or in the Game of the Year podcast later this week.
This year was strange in that I feel like I was choosing flawed games with did one or two things extraordinarily well or felt like they had heart over the usual Game of the Year fodder of high-budget "event" games. If I wanted those experiences, I could certainly find them, but I discovered I was getting bored of them more and more this year. In some cases, like Mass Effect 3 or Assassin's Creed 3, those big hyped titles failed to come close to expectations (or, in some places, minimum quality standards).
Oh, well, I had more than ten games I enjoyed this year, so here's my top ten.
