Here's something I'm very pleased to advertise: Starcraft 2 for charity. I have the official press release, as it'll explain things a bit better than I can:
What started off as a playful back and forth about each other’s inadequacies as Starcraft 2 players has escalated into a grudge match to see who will donate a majority of the proceeds to their respective hospital. On December 4th, 2010 at 9PM EST/6PM PST, EG.iNControl and Trus will be shout-casting a Rumble in the Bronze between Joe K, representing Abington Memorial Hospital, PA and HLPRMNKY, representing the University of Iowa Children’s Hospital. Viewers will be treated to unusual matches where Diamond players macro and Bronze players micro, as well as the main event between Joe K and HLPRMNKY. The event is a fundraiser with a majority of the funds raised going to the winner’s hospital. All proceeds will go to Child’s Play.
The event is hosted and planned by members of the Penny Arcade forums.
I love donating to Child's Play every year, and this year I'm filled with an even greater pride, as a community I've been a part of has created something truly special for everyone to enjoy. For those of you who aren't current with Starcraft 2, EG.iNControl is one of the best players in the world, and number 29 in North America.
What do you have to do to witness this fantastic event? Lock your browsers to Trus's Own3D Stream on December 4th, at 9PM EST/6PM PST, and don't forget to donate at the official ChipIn Donation page. It's a season of giving, and as gamers, it's our duty to make sure that each child is blessed with a wonderful holiday season.
Best of luck to both Joe K and HLPRMNKY, and we'll see you on the battlefield!
